Post No. 34 In My Mind

I broke down and cried when I first heard the announcement that Mr. Barack Obama is our President Elect... The weight and gravity of the moment were emotionally overwhelming... I feel a range of emotions: proud; joyful; moved; excited; hopeful; energized; motivated; and even fearful (that something may happen to him). I know one thing for sure, Mr. Obama will be a great President of the United States! peace ~ sean jones foto, nyc

I cried too... that was one very long day, I was the fifth person in line to vote that morning--I got dressed up to vote (never did that before) and was upset all day worrying. Then the inauguration, we all kept wiping away tears--everyone had a story--one women said when she first came to Nyack, they wouldn't sell her a house because she was black. They told her-- "you people should just rent." She said it was hard here, in many ways. and she came up from the south where it was worse, but it was still hard. I saw so much emotion, people looking back to the 1950s and 60's and saying they never thought they'd see this America--

I was thrilled for all the older people I know, they were overjoyed even a week after the inaugural they were overjoyed.
