Post No. 77 Eastman House- Rochester, NY

Former home of the Founder of the Eastman Kodak Company At one point in it's history, Kodak was the largest employer in the city of Rochester. However, through the 1980's up to the present day, that role has diminished substantially. Kodak's bread and butter was photographic film, paper, and chemical products. The rise of the digital age translated to a subsequent decreased demand for the products produced by Kodak, and the exacerbated rate of decrease in company's decreased impact on the economy in Rochester. No longer can a local high school graduate follow in the footsteps of his mother and/or father and secure a blue collar job, with a decent wage, which provides means to live a modest middle class lifestyle. For the most part, those positions have been either eliminated entirely, or moved overseas. Peace, ~sjf
